What's up good-for-nothin'? It's FRIDAY!

Okay, while I am "crackin' up" here, I am also sorry. We would NEVER refer to you, our reader, as a "good-for-nothin'." Honest. We know you're good for somethin'. Let's start over.

What's up good-for-somethin'? It's FRIDAY!

You see, each and every day we sit here (myself and those darn voices in my head) trying to think of a new, inventive way to "grab" you. (We're running out of salutations folks!)

Let's move on, shall we?

First, the weather in Atlanta is now unbearable. Hot and humid. Like a cat on a hot tin roof, I would say. (How is the weather where YOU live?)

We are continuing our May celebration today in honor of someone who is a friend here at "The Corner." You've read his post, seen his comments and heard him made mention of. Yes, "Kev's Corner" friend, "Mr. P.," was born on this day back in 1971, making THIS his 36th birthday!


"Mr. P.," also known by his mother, friends, colleagues, etc., as "Patrick" (a nice Irish name, don't you think) is an Atlanta-based "high-powered" attorney. Impressive, right? I can tell you that "Mr. P.'s" 15th floor corner office is larger than my condo (and I wish I were exaggerating this time).

I should mention that while hailing from the "Lone Star State," (you know, "Don't mess with Texas," where everything is BIG) "Mr. P." has lived in various parts of our country, including the U.S. Virgin Islands, where he is in fact celebrating today.


"Mr. P." is also an avid runner and has completed several marathons both here in the U.S. and abroad, while raising (a ton of) money for Leukemia research. To that we say, "WAY TO GO" and "GOOD FOR YOU!" (The world needs more people willing to help people!)

P. has discerning musical taste (goes for the off-beat unknowns who are cutting edge) but unlike "Kev," is not a "seat whore" (a term "P" called "Kev" in reference to "Kev's" need to ALWAYS sit in the first 3 rows). To that I say, once you've locked hands with Stevie Nicks, received a "wink" from Pink, a "thumbs up" from Justin Timberlake and a kiss, yes I said kiss, from Ricky Martin (of course I am making that up), you simply can't sit with the common folk, or "steerage" as I say.


Anyhoo, once again, please raise the glass of whatever you are drinking and help us wish our friend Patrick a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Since it is his birthday, and a Friday, we will also name him today's "Friday's HOT Guy," (along with actor Wentworth Miller, seen above) although, Patrick, you really should be revealing more skin for this distinction.

Finally, it is time for another "Corner Contest" with your chance to win either a "Kev's Corner" tee-shirt or mug! As you know, "Princess" won last week and is already donning her prized tee-shirt.
