Sunday

Good morning/HAPPY SUNDAY (bitches).

I don't know what to write about today. Black Friday/the trampling death at Wal-Mart (really people, they don't even sell the good shit)? Mumbai? The true meaning of Thanksgiving? Britney's upcoming tell-all shockumentary? It's all too much.

Simply enjoy this song from "The Killers." (I like them.)

Have a GR-EAT Sunday!

Kevin

Another GREAT DAY TO BE GAY!

Hello EVERYONE!

How are YOU? Really, "we" want to know! Although I asked someone this last night at Starbucks and 15 minutes later was wishing I hadn't - I had things to do. When someone asks how you are, they don't really want to know. Trust me. Simply be polite and lie (and do it briefly). Anyhoo, I'm GREAT! Thanks for asking. (See, it's THAT easy.)

For those of you who have read this blog for some time, you know that there are days "we" proclaim as "A GREAT DAY TO BE GAY!" (You have to shout it.) These are occasions we celebrate with exuberance and jubilation (that would probably not mean much to our straight male counterparts, and are really just very silly). No, Prop 8 wasn't repealed (that would be nice, right)? No, Ricky Martin hasn't returned my calls. No, my hair didn't grow back (on my head any way - the chest hair continues to come back despite the waxing) BUT, "Kev" (lame third person reference to myself) is THRILLED that he acquired a 14th row seat to see.... MADONNA! While I (switch to first person/tense) was aware that Madonna would be performing in the A-T-L, I was going to fore go her show (you know, because of the economic depression we are in/approaching and the fact that I am "shoring up" my own spending) BUT a friend called last night with an extra ticket and, well, I was all over it. You may be surprised to know that I have NEVER seen Madonna live. Just never made her a priority. Now that we (both Madonna and I) are getting older, I really wanted to catch her show. So there's the big news. (I hope she starts on time... Sister-girlfriend is notorious, from what I hear, for running late.)

Okay, it's late and I have to go to bed. Make it a GR-EAT Thursday, would ya?

OH! Come back on Friday... "We" are going to be "featuring" someone super fun.

Hugs -

Cold & Cranky

Mornin' bitches! It's Wednesday! You know what that means, right? Two days until Friday. (Were you expecting something more insightful than that? I was too. Sorry to disappoint.)

"Kev's" cold, "Kev's" cranky (and my tummy is a little rumbly).

Did EVERYONE catch "DWTS" last night? (That's "Dancing With The Stars.") Little Cody Linley was sent home. That was sad. He had spirit didn't he? "We," are of course, now pulling for Lance Bass. He can dance.

I couldn't think of two better men to grace the cover of GQ than Barack Obama and Leo DiCaprio. (Or me and Neil Patrick Harris.)

Okay, I gotta go to work now, so you surf the web on your own. (You have about 10 minutes though until you should be doing something meaningful - I mean it. 10 minutes.)

Stop in tomorrow.

Hugs and love -

Every Day

Happy Monday EVERYONE!

I have NOTHING to share today except this picture of Stevie Nicks, taken around 1987. I really liked her "look" during this era. Although I had "loved" her since a really young age, my "fascination" for her ignited in 1987 (probably because this was the first year Fleetwood Mac began touring again after a long break). You may know that Fleetwood Mac WILL be touring in January. I hope you will all attend a show.

Anyhoo, have a GR-EAT Tuesday.

Much love -

"Kev"

Here's a song I "love" (and have posted here several times before). It's a "love" song of sorts (that's all I will tell you about this).

Nirvana Baby

Mornin'. I swiped this from another blog. Have a GR-EAT day everyone.

More than 17 years ago, when he was still an infant, Spencer Elden's parents dropped him into a swimming pool in California, where underwater photographer Kirk Weddle was waiting to snap an entire roll of film of the naked, buoyant baby. The picture was later used as the cover image for Nevermind, the second studio LP from a little rock band out of Seattle called Nirvana.

Now, 17-year-old Elden is a high school student, who told MTV News last year that "it's kind of creepy [to think] that that many people have seen me naked — I feel like I'm the world's biggest porn star."

Elden recently re-created the iconic album's cover in the same pool at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena, California, where it was originally shot — only this time, he was wearing shorts. It remains unclear as to why Elden decided to shoot this new photo.

Elden's parents were paid just $200 for allowing him to be photographed back in 1991. But last year, Elden told us that being the Nirvana baby has its perks. He references it when trying to pick up ladies, he said: "I have to use stupid pickup lines like, 'You want to see my p---s ... again?' " But it's also led to some strange encounters as well. He was once invited to swim in a rather wealthy woman's pool for the mere fact that he was the Nirvana baby. Another time, he even met "Weird Al" Yankovic, who famously lampooned the cover on his 1992 disc, Off the Deep End.

"I ran into him when I was going to do a TV interview," Elden said. "He was in the hallway, and he actually signed the back of my platinum record."

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOANN! (I love you!)

Wuz up EVERYONE (bitches)?

Today is Friday! YAY!

"We" told you earlier this week that "we" would be celebrating two special people this week... TODAY "we" are celebrating the birthday of "our" dear friend (the dearest, really) whom "we" call "Princess." It's true, "Princess" was born back on this day in 1968, making TODAY her 40th birthday. I spoke with "Princess" this morning and she asked where her homage was (it's not like I haven't known about this date for some time), so here it is!

"Princess," you should know, was never really fond of being called "Princess." Now that she has reached this milestone, I am going to suggest, "The Queen." (What do you think?) For those of you who don't know her, well, she is a queen. Regal, elegant, beautiful, smart, fun, quick, knows what she believes and never wavers. (She really should be running a corporation or a country - it is a real shame she doesn't have a reality show, something I think America would enjoy.) We have been friends for a long, long time (since middle school) and I have immense love and respect for her. It's rare to have someone in your life who never, ever disappoints you and only brings you happiness. She is that person to me. I am grateful.

So, you dirty bastards (I know who reads this), please raise whatever you are drinking (you big drunk) and help me wish JoAnn, "The Queen," a very happy 40th birthday!

That's IT for today!

Hugs and love -

Our Friend Jean

Hello EVERYONE!

Just a short post to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY (mate) to "our" friend JEAN! Today is a milestone birthday for Jean - she turned 40! Jean lives in London, one of the "coolest" cities EVER and she also named this blog. I don't get to see her often enough but she is someone I remember with fondness. She has a wicked sense of humor and I still laugh at some things I remember her saying more than 20 years ago. Please help me in wishing Jean a happy 40th birthday!

That's IT! "Kev" will be out of town now (on business), so be good/take care! "We" will be back on Friday when we will ask for your help in celebrating another someone super special (whom I love tons).

Bye!

XOXO -

Anniversaries (Of Sorts)

Happy SUNDAY (bitches)!

How are YOU? "We" are s-w-e-l-l!

This coming week is super "special." TWO of our friends are celebrating milestone birthdays! Yes, it's exciting - they will both turn 40! Come back later in the week to find out who they are (and to celebrate and wish them each a "happy" day).

Some of you lucky bastards here in Atlanta are at the Tina Turner concert RIGHT NOW. Since I'm shoring up my own economy (thanks "Princess," for drawing that comparison), I am not attending. I also feel a little duped, I have to say. I saw Tina's "farewell" tour more than twice (okay, just twice) and really thought that was it. Anyways, I hope you "Proud Mary's" (like that tie in), if you were there, enjoyed the show.

Today is full of "anniversaries" of sorts... My super nice Grandfather (who lives on in my memory) passed away on this day in 2000. It was also on THIS day in 2004 that my home in Phoenix was burgled. We refer to this as the "brutal home invasion." While I could dwell on the tragedy of being robbed (and I did), what I remember MOST is how my friends Donna and Tim (and Rosie) (a.k.a. Kitten, Tiger and L'il Kitty) rallied around me, took me in, (fed me) and got me through. Yes, I'm dramatic. Luckily, I am not the first gay (or little girl) they have encountered so they were well equipped to deal with the "why me's" and crying spells... (I would tie any/every conversation back to the burglary. A toilet paper commercial would have me lament, "Well at least they left the toilet paper!") Very annoying, I'm sure, but in the end I think we all laughed about it. Anyhoo, THANK YOU (again) Donna and Tim. Finally, on a lighter note (literally), it was exactly 6 months ago TODAY that I started my new lifestyle (you know, healthy eating/exercise and talking about it incessantly) resulting in losing... 50 pounds! (Why didn't any of you tell me how fat I was!?; Alright, some of you did, I just didn't listen.) You should know, I can run like a gay-zelle now!

Okay, what else is going on? Britney's looking good, right? It's nice to see her getting her life together. ("We" care. "We" do.)

TODAY is Nick Lachey's 35th birthday and it is also the birthday of his girlfriend Vanessa Minillo. (I don't know how to spell "Minillo," nor do I care enough to spend the time looking it up - "The Amazing Race" is starting and that's more important at this moment in time.)

Alright kids, it's time to get outta here. YOU have a good Monday, would ya?

Hugs and love -

This video STILL cracks me up. I love Phoebe Buffay. (She was always my favorite "friend.")

I hope YOU are having a GR-EAT day. TGIF, right?

I Want My MTV

Hey KIDS! Welcome! C'mon in.

The article below was sent to me today and I thought I would share it with YOU...

Do you remember when MTV actually played music videos? Now you don't have to: The company's new website has posted pretty much every video that MTV ever aired, and all of them are free (and legal) to watch.

You'll see spare-no-expense epics (Michael Jackson's "Thriller" just celebrated its 25th anniversary), bare-bones relics (e.g., Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart"), and early work by some of today's most interesting directors (we're especially fond of Michel Gondry's videos for Björk). You can also revisit Unplugged and watch classic Video Music Awards performances by Madonna, TLC, and Kanye West. The network's attitude toward copyright-infringing sites like YouTube appears to be: "If you can't beat 'em, eat 'em." Works for us. Quick — to the video vault!

I WANT MY MTV.

(MTV in Europe actually DOES play music videos, and new ones, so I don't know why it isn't the same here?)

Anyhoo, THIS is the first video I watched. (Have I mentioned that I love Stevie Nicks lately?) It's exactly what I am thinking today...

Adios!

Vote!

It's almost time to Barack the vote, people! If you did not participate in early voting, make sure you get yourself to the polls tomorrow! (No, this picture has nothing to do with the election, the candidates, or politics in general.)

Watch THIS... Hysterically sad.

Bye!
