"The Corner" Turns 1!

HEY HEY! You made it! C'mon in!

Today is, as you know, our FIRST anniversary and 300th post! "The Corner" turns 1!

I thought long and hard about what to write today. It's "special," right? If you had asked me two years ago what a blog was, I would not have known. Really. I remember asking Kitten when I lived in Phoenix and neither of us knew. Today, more than 75 million people "blog" worldwide. (That's a LOT of trash out in cyber space, I am sure.) There are even blogs about blogs. I read a GR-EAT article about blogs (but I lost it). The article basically answered the 5 "W's" (who, what, when, where, why), etc... It was fascinating. You will have to trust me because, like I said, I lost it. Anyway, I do remember the article indicating that bloggers are "ego maniacs who must have attention" and are "people who feel they have something to say" and finally, "people who want to be real journalists but can't." (I think I fall in the last category.) Blogs are also considered online diaries. (Trust me, this ISN'T my diary. I keep a journal. If it were, however, you would be reading all about my night with... or the time I... And how you really pissed me off when you...) What this is, however, is a common place to stay in touch with folks I care about around the country (and world). I admit, I like to write. I wish I WERE a writer, so by "stoppin' in," you are fulfilling a "dream" of sorts. No little boy says, "When I grow up, I want to be an INSURANCE MAN!" It is also "fun" to share with the world when you shake Stevie Nicks' hand (three times this year), when you chase Leslie Jordan down the street so he will call your BFF on the cell phone, when you kiss Reichen Lehmkuhl or slap Anderson Cooper's ass (okay, I didn't do either of those last two things - but I could have). It is also a way to "celebrate" all of you (which is fun for me), show some gratitude for those of you I appreciate, talk about events in our world, post pictures of "HOT Guys," and, unfortunately, a place to remember those who are no longer here. All of that said, "we'll" keep writing if you keep readin!

Here's the LAST childhood picture I have to share. I promise. This was taken in the first grade, the first time, or "Part I," as I refer to it. (Yes, it's true - I repeated the first grade. Don't tell anyone. Something about not paying attention and talking too much. Not much has changed. Apparently being darling wasn't enough. OH, I DO remember pretending my desk was an airplane and I would fly out of the classroom - those were some good times!) Anyhoo, I thought this would go with "first anniversary." I remember the girl in the purple skirt. She wore that skirt a lot. (I did NOT like her - three words...white tr-ash). (Sorry purple skirt girl, if you read this.) I remember the smell, and taste, of that glue too. Oh, since I was forthcoming about the first grade, I feel the need to exonerate myself and tell you that I was almost a straight A student in college and earned all A's in my Master's program. I am not stoopid.)

If ANY of you know HTML programming, LET "US" KNOW! (We want to change the site's banner to incorporate pictures of many of YOU.)

For you (I was going to say "those of you" but I know there is only one of you) in London, catch Kelly Osbourne at The Cambridge Theatre in my FAVORITE musical, "Chicago," as Mama Morton! (Damn, I wish I could go...)

"We" would like to give a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHOUT OUT, via way of his mother, to a certain special someone, the cutest little boy EVER, (no, not Zac Efron) who turns 10 tomorrow! This kid is cute, smart, polite, cares about the world and has a conscious. He's incredible, like his parents, and I can't wait to see what he makes of his life. So, to "mom," please say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to GI-JOE! (He's far too young to be reading this.)

That's IT for our anniversary post! ("Kev" has got to get to the gym...)

Finally, a group, again, one of my "favorites," we haven't featured here yet, Green Day! (Thinking about my airplane desk reminded me of this...)

A Bit Scary...

You're BACK! ("We're" BACK too...)

Would you believe that tomorrow marks our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY here at "The Corner?" "We" can hardly believe it either. When "we" started blogging one year ago, "we" never imagined "we" would still be doing it one year later. (Now if "we," yes, still just me, could make a little money from this damn site, "we'd" be in business!) "We" have BIG plans for our next year, that "we" will share with you tomorrow. Okay, "we're" lying. "We" got nothin'. Just more of the same.

For all of you in Atlanta, LeAnn Rimes will be performing at Chastain Park on Wednesday, August 7 at 8 p.m.. I am not going to mince words - I need a date! A date who can pay for their own ticket! (I'll buy the drinks.) I really, really, really want to go (really). LeAnn is in my "Top 5" - I love her. So think about it and get back to me. Soon.

As you all know, "Kev" moved last week and is still acclimating to the new condo. The place is nice but doesn't feel like home yet, I have to say. My new neighbor is pleasant, however he is both old(er) and, unfortunately, unattractive (a bit scary, if I am being honest here). Not young and hot like my other neighbor, Jonathon (who was the hottest. Very pretty. An A&F model, I am sure). (OH, before I forget, one of my neighbors IS a male model. He models cell phones for T Mobile. I recognized him from the ads around town and sure enough, I was RIGHT!) Anyway, the only upside of having old(er), unattractive neighbors is that they are super quiet (but expect you to be too). He has already asked me to lower the volume of my music. Can you imagine that? The NEW dance remix of Stevie Nicks's "Stand Back" (limited copy - there are only a few in circulation) is out, and I have been listening to it. Repeatedly. (And apparently, loudly.)

Here's an illustration for you...

Former neighbor, Jonathon -

New neighbor, creepy guy with noise issues -

Has anyone seen "Hairspray?" I haven't. I don't like John Travolta and can't imagine he would be better than Divine, so I am boycotting this movie. (Unless anyone wants to see it, than of course, I'm IN!)

What else, what else? Can you tell I am in a little bit of a funk today? Stevie Nicks performed in Phoenix last night and I am still disappointed that I was not there. For those of you who were (two of our "readers" were - lucky bastards...) tell us all about the show, would ya?

Okay, I think that's IT for today! "We" hope you have a GR-EAT Sunday.

Come back tomorrow - "we'll" see you then! (Oh, I don't know why I am sharing these pictures of Collin Farrell? I found them and thought you might like them. I don't know ANYTHING about Collin except that he is Irish.)

THANKS for stoppin' in!

Friday's HOT Guy...

Hello BITCHES!

It's FRIDAY!

Again, our apologies for the brevity of this post... We're ALMOST settled (I am coming to you from my desk top and the Internet connection is working just fine, which is strange since the cable guy isn't scheduled until tomorrow).

Today's HOT Guy is someone you may know but is someone new to us. He is really HOT. He is an Olympic skier, former A&F model, and now NFL football player, Jeremy Bloom!

He's 25 and looks pretty good to me. That's all I know.

Enjoy these pictures of him.

You may have heard that Nicole Richie was sentenced today to 4 days in jail and 3 years probation stemming from her 2nd DUI arrest. Congratulations Nicole! Good for you! (I don't know what else to say.)

THAT'S IT for today! Have a GREAT weekend people!

Thursday's HOT Guy...

It's ALMOST Friday people. What's up? What's goin' on? How are ya? Whatdya know?

"Kev" is STILL settling in and feels VERY bad that he has no time to write (I don't have a desk or an Internet connection so I am coming to you from my laptop where I have to sit extra close to the window to poach someone else's WIFI connection. This puts a damper on my creativity, I have to say.)

All of that said, tonight's post will be BRIEF.

No sooner did we make fun of Lindsay Lohan's alcohol anklet when news broke that she had been arrested AGAIN for DUI. I hope they throw the book at her. Literally.

We have had several requests to feature Criss Angel as a HOT Guy. Since we aim to please, here are some pictures of Criss Angel, the first ever "THURSDAY HOT Guy..."

Here is some information about Criss, courtesy of Wikipedia. (I love Wikipedia, don't you?)

Criss Angel (born Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos on December 19, 1967) is an American magician, illusionist , musician, mentalist, hypnotist, escapologist, stunt performer, and actor. He is best known for starring in his own television show, Criss Angel Mindfreak.

That's IT! (Thanks for continuing to "stop in"... "Kev" will have a brand new desk and functioning Internet connection on Saturday so we hope to provide you with the quality blog you have become accustomed to then.)

Much love -

Tuesday's HOT Guy...

What's up YOU?

"Kev" is now coming to you from Metropolis, in Atlanta's Midtown "gayborhood!"

And... THIS is our 295th post!

I have to say, I am a little bored with entertainment news lately, aren't you? Celebs in and out of rehab. Just sick of it. Have you seen the pictures of Lindsay Lohan donning her alcohol-sensing anklet?

"Kitten" suggested we have a Tuesday "HOT Guy" and since we aim to please (and have nothing else to write about) TODAY'S Tuesday HOT Guy is actor Paul Rudd. We don't know why we haven't featured him here before. He's cute, isn't he?

That's it for today friends! Have a GR-EAT Tuesday!

L-U-V,

"Kev"

Super Dreamy

HELLO (insert your name or what you like people to call you HERE)!

It's Sunday! Instead of finishing my move, I am writing to YOU!

I hope that EVERYONE had a GR-EAT weekend! (You know I can't write the word GR-EAT anymore without putting it in all CAPS and adding the hyphen between the R and the E.)

"We've" scoured all the sites to bring you something news-worthy and really, there is not much going on.

Today is singer Don Henley's 60th birthday! As you may know, "Kev" met Don Henley (twice). I don't have anything "fun" to share about our meetings really (I think he was high). I asked Don if I could put my arm around him for the photo and he thanked me for asking first and said most fans don't. I will tell you, if I could have anyones singing voice, it would be Don Henley's. Probably not the first choice among the gays (who would prefer to be Whitney, Britney, J-Lo or British R&B sensation, Rihanna, because she is super cute), but I don't care, I love his voice. The Eagles "Hotel California" remains one of my favorite albums/CD's of all time. You may also know that Don Henley dated Stevie Nicks early in their careers. Don does LOTS of charity work including supporting organizations whose mission is to save this planet. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DON!

Please enjoy this song, my favorite Eagles hit (the piano is great), "New York Minute."

Matt Damon is on the cover of the latest issue of GQ Magazine. He's sexy, isn't he? Super dreamy. (See for yourself.)

Some of you know (if you are an avid reader here) that "Kev's" Arizona home was burglarized in 2004. (Devastating, isn't it?) Among the things taken were photographs I thought I would never see again (some from World War II). Unbeknownst to me, my sister has many of the same photos which she has now copied and forwarded. I will share them all (if you care to see them) in the coming months. Here is one of "Kev" taken in the Wisconsin Dells (that's where you went on vacation if you grew up in the Chicago area). For those of you who have been there, you know whoever developed the Dells was on acid. Everything is larger than life and colorful. It's the only place I know where fairies, princesses and cowboys shared the same streets. (Gayer than Disney World if you ask me.) Anyhoo, I thought this deer was going to attack me. I threw the food on the ground. (I still remember that - very traumatic.)

Well, I better finish moving now. I will be back later in the week!

L-U-V,

"Kev"

Goodbye Tammy Faye

Hello BITCHES!

It is Saturday! All day. Until midnight.

What is up?

You may have heard that Tammy Faye Messner, simply known as Tammy Faye, lost her battle with lung cancer yesterday. Tammy Faye died at the age of 65. While I don't know a whole lot about her, I do know that Tammy Faye "loved" the gays and the gays "loved" Tammy Faye. I always find death sad, even if I don't know the person, so I was sorry to learn of Tammy Faye's "passing." (Why do we call it passing?) Goodbye Tammy Faye.

"Kev" finally moved TODAY although he is not writing to you from his new 556 square foot palace. (No Internet yet.) THANKS, again, to everyone who helped out with this move. I have to say, painting and moving parties always sound more fun then they really are, don't they? Adding the word "party" is a misnomer I think.

Since we missed posting a "Friday HOT Guy" yesterday, we are posting a "HOT Guy" today, nominated by our very own "Kitten." You know him. It's Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, better known as "Sting." I like posting guys that everyone knows because then I don't have to write about them. (I am still tired. Yes, I complain a lot.)

Please enjoy these pictures of Sting, as well as my favorite song by Sting (featuring Cheb Mami), called "Desert Rose."

That's all for today.

Hugs, kisses, etc...

Steppin' To The Bad Side

Hey bitches! What is up? It's THURSDAY! HOORAY!

"We" feel like we are neglecting you (and "we" are) BUT "we" hope that you are having a good week.

Last night's performance of "Dreamgirls" at The Fox was fun. The gays definitely had a showing at this event. Not a dry eye in the place. (Okay, I am exaggerating a little bit but it was VERY gay.) Jennifer Holliday, who I DID NOT know was on "Alley McBeal," (more gay points out the window), was GR-EAT. The song "Steppin' To The Bad Side" is STILL playing in my head (it's catchy).

I don't know WHAT is going on in the world EXCEPT that I have a new L.A. Galaxy hat (sa-weet) and am currently craving lasagna. Galaxy, for those of you who don't know, is the Los Angeles based "football" (soccer) team whose latest member is uber sexy "HOT Guy" David Beckham, whom I can never get enough of. THANKS to "Princess" for the hat - I will wear it. A LOT.

Click HERE to visit Galaxy's official site.

"Hairspray" opens TOMORROW! I can't wait to see that as well. Although, I have to say, I think John Travolta is one of those secretly (very) gay married men. (No straight guy likes Oprah that much.)

That's IT (I know, a little lame lately).

"We" WILL be back on Friday to share a HOT Guy with you.

Until then, be good.

"Kev"

Dreamgirls

Hey EVERYONE!

I know I said "we" wouldn't be back for a week or so but "we" wanted to share this picture of "our" dear friends "Princess" and "HOTTIE." (Anything sent to me is fair game for the blog you know...) "Princess" and family are in Washington D.C. for the week and based on the 152 pictures they have sent thus far, I think they are having a GR-EAT time (and it's only Day 2). I would LOVE to share some of the pics of the kids - they are super cute and the pictures make me smile (however, that would violate our "no pictures of children" policy).

We are also stoppin' back in to let everyone know that "Kev" is working super hard to earn as many GP's as he can before the end of fiscal year. You might recall that holey socks and tee shirts (which have since been discarded/replaced) set "Kev" back substantially. Anyhoo, those of you here in Atlanta (all 6 of you), know that "Dreamgirls," the smash musical hit starring the original "Dreamgirl," Jennifer Holliday, opens at the "Fabulous Fox Theater" tomorrow night. Thanks to my "sistah," Ken, I WILL be there! I can hardly w-a-i-t, wait! Since living in Atlanta, The Fox is the last landmark I have yet to experience (yet I can see it from my current balcony). "Our" good friend Deb said that attending the show alone is not in and of itself point worthy. Deb indicated that I must also purchase the soundtrack, memorize the lyrics and sing them publicly at least four times to claim credit for this show... The Fox (those of you in Atlanta know this, so you can skip this sentence if you would like) was the site of the "Gone With The Wind" premiere back in (insert whatever year that was HERE). So, THANKS to Ken (I really appreciate it).

Finally, THANKS to Chance for ALL the help this week (I thought I better acknowledge you publicly...).

To everyone else, I hope you are having a GR-EAT week!

"Kev" will be back, well, when he feels like it.

Kisses!

On A Break

HEY EVERYONE! What's up? It's SATURDAY!

As you know, "Kev" is in the midst of a move. He is just a little too busy (and cranky) right now to maintain the "Corner" (you understand, right), so we are going to take a week or so off and when "we" come back, we will be coming to you from "our" new digs.

I hope you will come back in a week or so though (don't forget about "us") because "we" will be celebrating our one year anniversary later this month! (We might even have cake. Well, I'll eat cake and you can get yourself some cake. I like cake. Ice cream too.)

Until then, take care and enjoy your week!

Much love,

"Kev"

Friday's HOT Guy...

It's Friday the 13th! Welcome BACK!

I am not going to mince words, "Kev" is wild-eyed and sleep deprived (and has been most of the week). Just a LOT going on. You didn't come here to hear me complain though, right? I am starting to sound like Paula Abdul, you know, "I'm exhausted" (without the pain meds), but I am EXHAUSTED.

First, as reported previously, "our" friend Jimmy is leaving the A-T-L... TODAY is his LAST day. He is going to be missed. Greatly.

Last week "we" reported that an (anonymous) friend doesn't read the "Corner," he simply looks at the pictures... He contacted me (I mean, "us") and apparently DOES read the blog (not just look at the pictures). He asked that "we" print a retraction (you know, like real publications do when they "f" up). Please accept our apologies (but there will be a quiz next week).

Next, "Princess" (et al) are heading off on holiday. "We" would like to say "have FUN!" (And call "us" as SOON as you return.)

(This is really just becoming my online diary, isn't it?)

Finally, now that all of the business is out of the way... Today's "HOT Guy" is 30-year-old, British actor, Orlando Bloom. (You've seen his pirate movies - I don't need to tell you any more.) Our "props" to "Kitten" for the nomination...

I have to say, I didn't realize how "HOT" Orlando is until I started scouring the internet for pictures.

I hope you all have a GR-EAT Friday! "Kev" WILL be back on Saturday.

HUGS!

"Kev"

Practical Math

Welcome BACK!

Today's contribution comes courtesy of Aunt Edith. (THANKS Aunt Edith!) This cracked me up, I have to say. I hope it cracks you up too.

Hey Paula

It's.... HUMP DAY! YAY!

Did anyone watch "Hey Paula" on Bravo last night? Why is this entertainment? A real mess if you ask me. Paula spent the hour talking about how "exhausted" she was (she said that she was "in the middle of a crap sandwich" - what an awful metaphor, isn't it?) All the crying and those damn dogs barking, I had to change the channel. Two words - re hab.

Is it "wrong" to be in love with Zac Efron? I'm just askin'...

David Beckham makes his debut in L.A. this FRIDAY, July 13th! (He was going to be our "HOT Guy" again, BUT we couldn't wait to share these pictures...)

Unfortunately, THAT'S IT for today...

Come back tomorrow!

Love,

"Kev"
